This is a really interesting design. You mentioned that you were thinking of joining the side seams at the top. It would be interesting to see if topstitching the V of the overdress to the top of the underdress would look okay. That would avoid the need for elastic, and at the same time make sure the under-dress stayed up and in place.
Hi Leigh, thanks for dropping by. I think there are a few solutions to the issue of keeping the underdress in place. However I think that ultimately I would like the underdress to be separate so I could use across my wardrobe. It would make an excellent combination with a large semi-transparent shirt. So many possibilities. :) Are you thinking of making this design?
Thanks again for the inspiring challenge, I can't wait to try it.
ReplyDeleteHI Sue, it's wonderful to hear you might try this pattern. :) Let me know if you have any questions. And I would love to see the results. :)
DeleteAnita, this one is truly awesome!
ReplyDeleteThx Gail :). Btw loved the silver dress you made for your daughter. That was awesome and your daughters are so lucky to have you. <3
