Not sure you have to be that shapely. I have cut the toiles for both and seriously the Twist is looking interesting. Will post pics when they are done. Thx for listing my blog on yours. :)
Hi Julie. Yes I think the Twist will be more effective. I have just pinned the toiles together and the drape is looking very dull beside the twist. Will post pics as soon as they are together. :)
Thank you so much. I went to your site and love the dresses you are selling. Did you know that Studio Faro sells a license for the use of our designs by commercial companies? If you are considering a new design range let us know. :)
I love the design but I am not quiet sure if the finished dress is going to look like the images here since the dress is cut on bias. The bust darts are placed differently and would that affect the hang of the dress? it is a bit difficult to sew on the bias. Is there any trick to make it easier? Thank you so much for sharing.
I love this dress and sooo want to make one, but just like with some of your other blog posts - some images are GONE and so instructions without images would be very hard to follow - for me. Can you help?
Hi Anya sorry to hear you cannot see the images but they are all still in the post as are all the instructions. Can only suggest you try the RSS feed to get automatic delivery on your computer. :)
Hello, I just wanted to let you know I used the twist shift dress design idea to make a dress for myself, which I featured on my blog here. Thank you so much for the innovative and unique design; it's simple but with a twist, literally! and I love it.
Thanks for the details and the link Carolyn. I love it when you use my pattern instructions and create your own unique interpretation. That's exactly what these posts are about!
Thank you Anita! now I have to confess I did not follow the instructions! (blush) I couldn't find this post at the time so I just drew a pattern from my memory of your sketch... however, the spirit of the design is definitely the same :)
Lol that's fantastic! I agree, it's really not about following the post to the letter but more about a personal interpretation. And in this case that was a good move. I have made the sample above and the darts (as they are in the sketch) are a bad idea. Very problematic; so that needs a rethink. :) I hope to post about it one day.
Needless to say that I really appreciate the time and effort you put into your posts and how you bring my teaching to life. Thank you :)
It's a fun design, and though I usually lean toward a cowl neckline, I think I prefer the twist on this one!

ReplyDeleteHi Aeh, thx for dropping by. Yes it is true all new product development has it's risks. Often it is best to try it then improve it. :)
