Every week new fans turn up to comment and solve our #PatternPuzzle and this week was no exception. Steph Go was in early with a comprehensive answer revealing the main parts of the pattern piece. Then Julie and Lynn turned up a little later to finish off the puzzle. You'll find the rest of this fabulous pattern making post on the website in my well-suited blog.
If you'd like to learn my method for creating Twist Drape Patterns I have a detailed worksheet for making Jersey Twist Patterns. For just a few dollars you'll get the same training you'd get if you came to the workshop in my studio.
Check out the First Sample post on the blog.
hi there- just the dress i'd been looking for. i read through, and even though ive been sewing all my life, i couldn't understand almost any of your instructions. i would love to see the pattern piece with small arrows explaining which goes where and i bet i could piece it together from that alone. thank you!

DeleteI've been a seamstress for many years, but have always struggled with patterns. Thank you so much for your ideas, explanations and artistry and thank you for sharing - generosity coupled with genius, a win-win for all sewists :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Yvette! :)
DeleteHi, I a looking to make this dress in a satin material I have, is there a video available?
ReplyDeleteHi Arianna, thanks for getting in touch. Unfortunately no video, just this blog post. Much will depend on the block you use to start the pattern. Do you have a woven kimono block? That would be best if possible, then use the instructions above.
